Evangelia Katris, one of the great ladies of the Greek community, has passed away. She was 105 years old

At PRONIA, we are heartbroken by the news of her death. Evangelia Katris, mother of Nicholas Katris, former President of PRONIA, was a beloved member of our community. For decades, Mrs Katris had received services from PRONIA which enabled her to live independently in her own house well after her 100th birthday, despite the severe vision problems she faced and endured with rare strength of spirit and grace.
We offer our condolences to Nicholas Katris and the extended Katris family including Lana Laios her grandaugther who is a current PRONIA board member. May her memory live on.

PRONIA has had a long, proud history in advocating for social justice, equality of opportunity for individuals and communities, with the aim of helping to create a stronger, cohesive, and inclusive society for all Australians. It is within this spirit that PRONIA supports the Uluru Statement from the Heart and the “yes” vote in the upcoming referendum to constitutionally recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as the First Peoples of Australia and a Voice to parliament.
