Ms. Julie Christopoulos – Member
Julie Christopoulos holds a Master in Education, specialising in Counselling and Outcome Based Education and a Bachelor in Education/ Commerce. She is currently a Principal Consultant at Independent Schools Victoria, in the School Improvement Team. Her role is extensive, diverse and varied in the areas of consulting, advising and supporting Independent member schools’ Principals, leadership teams and teachers.
Providing assistance and support in implementing the Australian and Victorian Curriculums including English as a an Additional Language and Dialect (EAL & EAL/D) and assisting member schools with VRQA (Victorian Registration Requirement & Qualifications Authority) questions. ACARA, HASS Network working group member. Presenting Positive Relationship sessions assisting the enhancement of Positive Classroom Relationships, Mental Health and Wellbeing programs and Community Partnerships that support schools and their communities with particular attention and devotion to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, EAL, EAL/D and refugee students.
Supporting in the development of Personalised Learning Frameworks including Differentiated Learning and Individual/ Educational/ Learning Plans that meet student needs.Also, assisting with Educational learning initiatives such as ‘garden links’ that support learning and mental health and wellbeing. Julie also provides assistance and guidance with funding applications as well as support in researching funding available for students who are ‘at risk’ of disengagement from school and their education
She also provides advice about EAL, EAL/D and facilitates a EAL,EAL/D Network and Masterclass. Other supports include Feedback Strategies using Formative and Summative assessments as well as Explicit Learning Approaches.
Julie has also facilitated and supported the development of Out Of School Hours Support Programs (homework clubs and programs) for a number of Independent schools with refugee students, EAL students and students in need of support in literacy and numeracy.Assistance is also given in the areas of Curriculum that provide guidance, support and advice in the implementation of the Australian and Victorian Curriculums and Wellbeing Frameworks that schools adopt and in the implementation of the Child Safe Standards and the relevant policies necessary.Julie is a researcher and advisor in the implementation of various resources, programs, workshops and frameworks linking Mental Health and Wellbeing prevention and intervention strategies with a focus on promoting inclusion and child safety.
Provides Australian Curriculum and Commonwealth Education Act 2013 advice.
She has experience as an Educator in the areas of Accountancy, Economics, Legal Studies and Business Management.
Julie has been an Assessor and Exam writer for VCE in Accountancy and Economics and a VCE presenter at the University of Melbourne and Latrobe University.
