Dementia Action Week – Greek Community of Tasmania
We celebrated the Dementia Action Week with the Greek Community of Tasmania at a wonderful event on 29 September at Hellenic House, Hobart. This occasion also marked the one-year anniversary of PRONIA’s services in Tasmania.
A highlight of the day was the insightful presentation by Professor James Vickers, Director of the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre at the University of Tasmania as well as the informative Q&A session that followed. Professor Vickers shared his expertise on dementia research, early diagnosis, and prevention.
Our Family & Community Services Manager, Mary Sophou, and PRONIA’s Dementia Support team were also on hand to inform attendees about the vital support programs we offer in both Melbourne and Tasmania.
The event wrapped up on a high note with music from Anthea Sidiropoulos, bringing the crowd to their feet for singing and dancing, followed by a delightful afternoon tea and a cake to celebrate PRONIA’s first year in Hobart.
We are excited about the future of our collaboration with the Greek Community of Tasmania and look forward to expanding our services in the years to come.
