In celebration of National Carers Week 2024, PRONIA, together with VMCH, Wellways, Carer Gateway, Uniting, MerriHealth, Different Journeys, and Pinchapoo, hosted a special lunch at Hyatt Place, Scoresby. This event was dedicated to acknowledging the incredible, selfless work of our carers and giving them a well-deserved break. Along with a lovely lunch, carers enjoyed an uplifting Laughter Yoga session that filled the room with smiles and joy. We celebrated the Dementia Action Week with the Greek Community of Tasmania at a wonderful event on 29 September at Hellenic House, Hobart. This occasion also marked the one-year anniversary of PRONIA’s services in Tasmania. A highlight of the day was the insightful presentation by Professor James Vickers, Director of the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre at the University of Tasmania as well as the informative Q&A session that followed. PRONIA proudly celebrated the 20th anniversary of its successful Greek Cardiac Rehabilitation Program on Thursday, 19 September at the Treacy Centre, Parkville. This milestone marks two decades of unwavering commitment to supporting Greek-speaking cardiac patients in their recovery and long-term health. Launched on 9 September 2004, in collaboration with Heartbeat Victoria, the Heart Research Centre, and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, the program remains the only Greek-language cardiac rehabilitation service in Australia.
