In our Australian-Greek community, we are most
fortunate that PRONIA has been providing a support program to combat family violence including crisis intervention, counselling, judicial advocacy and financial support for over 35 years. However, as the phenomenon is still
prevailing in our community, the need arose for an independent and more comprehensive program, thus the PRONIA Foundation against Family Violence was born.

“Safer Together” aims to promote physical and emotional safety, healing from trauma, stability and nurturance for the family violence victims within our wider community. Through the foundation, we can offer services on the ‘frontline’ including crisis accomodation, financial support, immediate response service, counselling, legal services, and much more. In addition, the Foundation will provide awareness and education, prevention and support.

At PRONIA we believe that all victims and their families deserve a safe, violence-free place to heal. We have been dealing with the issue for a very long time which is why we know exactly how to use funding effectively and provide vital care and support to victim-survivors. Funds raised will be allocated to fill the gaps of the existing incident report system which doesn’t provide adequate support to victims. Your support of these services is both an investment in the community and a commitment to help these victims of domestic violence.

With your support, we can make a positive difference in the lives of the families we serve. We can all be ‘Safer Together’. Please take a moment to review how you can help victims of domestic violence become survivors. Your donation will help protect families fleeting from violence. Your gift will return hope, laughter, warmth and safety to families that are consumed by fear, heartache and pain. It will allow us to create homes with hope for a brighter future.

PRONIA has had a long, proud history in advocating for social justice, equality of opportunity for individuals and communities, with the aim of helping to create a stronger, cohesive, and inclusive society for all Australians. It is within this spirit that PRONIA supports the Uluru Statement from the Heart and the “yes” vote in the upcoming referendum to constitutionally recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as the First Peoples of Australia and a Voice to parliament.
