Women’s Workshop
Successful inaugural Women’s Workshop from PRONIA and Food for Thought Network
for Australian-Greek women
On behalf of PRONIA and Food for Thought Network, we thank you wholeheartedly for your participation and energy in your attendance at our Inaugural Workshop, UNLOCKING INTERGENERATIONAL VOICES, on Sunday afternoon.
Thank you to all of you, the 80 participants, who came as far as Morwell and Geelong and all metropolitan areas, representing all generations and ages, professions and businesses, including politicians, academics and researchers, journalists from Neos KOSMOS, the Greek Herald and Chanel 31! Thanks to the Greek Community Centre for hosting us and photographers Stavroula Lambropoulos and Fatima Ahmad for the photo and video recording.
The room had such a buzz and excitement, and we could have spoken for many more hours. There was sharing, supporting, laughing and even some tears as stories were shared in the words of one of our participants ‘what a thought-provoking, relevant & much-needed forum today’s event was. There was enough intelligence, strength & ideas in the room to run the country!’.
The workshop focused on key issues which affect Greek-Australian women. The findings and initiatives from the workshop will be explored further as they enhance ongoing dialogue, designing pathways to more services and networking opportunities for all women of our community.
